Want to know how to turn an Image to video in Canva? Well if you’re thinking “Oh yes and show me how!”, then I’m your gal.
It only takes around 15 seconds to create a video from a simple photo.
This tool in Canva almost sounds too good to be true.
But after experimenting with a stack of images, I quickly realised it’s a feature I’m absolutely loving right now. (kinda grooving it)
Magic ⭐
The real magic of mini image to video content is that you’re not becoming a video editor but just adding movement to an image you already have.
So what would these mini video’s be good for?
Good question
They could be used for so many things. Here’s just a few:
- Creating mini reels for Instagram
- Short movie style product videos for your business
- Holiday graphics and travel
- Promoting your gift certificates
- Adding a bit of movement to your social media profiles
- A subtle background feature behind posts
- Slide style carousel content turned into short videos
- Turn them into Gif’s
Smart v’s Custom
When turning a photo into a video you have two options in the “Image to Video tool”.
Smart Option = Canva does it’s own thing to your image. Just upload click Smart and away it goes.
Custom Option = clicking on the custom side of the tool lets you write in your own wording what you would like the image to do. The above photo is a stock image of a woman holding a glass bottle with and atomizer on it.
As an experiment I typed into the Custom option”spray oil onto legs” for this image above and you can see what it’s created
So I’m pretty impressed.
Re-generate option = if you don’t like what Canva has created it will regenerate another video for you.
There’s gotta a be a catch?
I’m hearing you and yes there is a catch. It’s a Canva Pro feature.
You also can’t use images with faces 😊
Or unable to use Canva pro photos from the Canva elements library. (the ones with the little crowns on the bottom)
I have only used the photos from the free options available and some stock photos of my own for the tutorial, but I am totally amazed at what Canva created.
The funny thing
But for some reason during the tutorial it did create some lovely faces on the stock images I uploaded which was kind of unusual. Not sure what happened there! 😲
